K-5 Report Cards to Open Soon

The standards based K-5 report cards will open next week for the beginning of data entry for first quarter.  There were a few revisions that were needed and the Tyler system is testing today the roll over of those edits.  When the report cards are open for entry, you will notice there is no NA option.  Tyler allows for only one character to be entered into the field, so we are using a symbol at this time to indicate NA.  An official email will be sent to all parents prior to the report cards going live explaining the symbols used.  Please be sure to have all grades entered by midnight on October 25th.  Happy grading!

Learner Profile Data Is In

This week the Educational Service Department crunched the numbers and finalized the pre-data for the all-in Learner Profile goal.  Thank you again for having the Cabinet and Instructional Coaches stop in to work with your students to gather this extensive data.  Final numbers will be sent next week on the exact student growth needed for each of the evaluation levels.  At this time we want to share the district overall levels of Leaner Profile knowledge.  Please continue to encourage reflection and work with students using the profile.  We are excited to see the progresss over the course of this year.

Congratulations to Jenelle Mance!

A huge congratulations to McDole RTI Reading Coach, Jenelle Mance on being awarded the doctoral student Jerry John Literacy Presentation Award.  What a great honor to have your presentation at IRC recognized with such an esteemed award.  Please take a moment to send your congratulations to Jenelle!  Proud to be a Knight!

Kaneland is the Place To Be!

Mike and I attended a session on Tuesday sharing with incoming PDS Students the celebrations of Kaneland.  It seems there is a lot of interest in coming to Kaneland to begin their clinical and student teaching experiences.  We are still looking for staff in grades 1-6 to host student teachers from Spring 2018 to Fall 2018.  We will support you in this process and release them if the student teacher is not a good fit.  Hosting a student teacher has proven to be successful in our district.  In most classrooms the student achievement data is stronger than in those that do not have a host teacher.  This data was part of a data collection study last winter.  Please consider hosting this year.  At this time we have 7 host teachers and would love to see around 25.  Take on the challenge and use your growth mindset to expand your teaching and mentoring by hosting a teacher.  Email Sarah or Mike with your interest.
