This year we will begin EC-5 PBP Table work in October. We are excited to get the PBP sub days up and running. This year we will have at least 1 rep from each school per grade level and content to do the sub day work as a cross district team. With limited subs, we may have to limit only one rep per school. If two Teachers within a grade level would want to attend, be sure to communicate with your School Administration who will be the first to return to the school if subs are unfilled for the day. Please note that the team will get a more detailed email on the process of work for the sub day. Please be sure to work with your School Administration to identify your rep, plan your sub request through AESOP, and be prepared to share progress on the work. We look forward to a great year of PBP work!

Educational Service Department Learning Walks
This month the Educational Service Department was very excited to get out into the schools and visit classrooms to see learning come alive. Thank you to all who welcomed us into their classrooms. We noticed the following trends in our learning environments:
-Student engagement in setting routines
-Lots of relationship building
-Lots of respectful and energetic conversations
-I can statements may have been posted but often not referenced during learning
One easy way to continue to grow the learning experience for students may be to:
1. Provide more student led dialogue
2. Embed and reference the I can statements during learning to reinforce the learning expectations
We have made a minor addition to the What I Noticed form and added the expectation in each section linked to our 2021-22 Kaneland Connects Goals. Thank you again for all you do for our students. It was very exciting to see learning, staff and students again!

Proficiency-based Progress SIP Data Collection
Good Morning!
On Thursday, September 9th, we will be collecting our first formal round of data for our proficiency-based progress SIP goal. Please take a look at the logistics by grade span. We will be asking you to send this to students on the 9th after your 1st academic activity (elementary) or 1st period for 6-12 students.
For K-2 Students
Please distribute the paper copies to students at the end of the 1st lesson or academic activity of the day on the 9th. You will need to read the questions and options to your students. Once completed, please turn it into the office to send to Ed Services
For 3rd Grade Students
You will have two options, please choose ONE:
1) Distribute the paper copy to your students at the end of the 1st lesson or academic activity of the day on the 9th. You will need to read the questions and options to your students. Once completed, please turn it in to the office to send to Ed Services.
-OR-
2) Use the link HERE and email it to your students if you feel like this is more efficient for your classes.
For 4th-12th Grade Students
Use the link HERE and email it to your students at the end of your 1st academic lesson (4th/5th) or at the end of 1st period for 6-12. This only pertains to teachers who have a 1st-period class.
Ed Services will also be emailing the link directly to 3rd-12th grade students at the start of the day on Thursday, September 9th.
Thank you for your work towards this goal this year! We are excited to see the growth of our students.
Call for Proposals for IgKnight 2021
We are excited once again to be hosting the IgKnight Professional Learning Conference on November 22nd. We will be kicking off our day of learning with a keynote from Hamish Brewer, the author of Relentless. After the keynote, we will have 4 opportunities for staff to self-select sessions to attend based on their own learning needs and professional growth. This year we will offer sessions in a variety of formats: In-person small group, In-person large group, and self-paced. We have already observed so many great learning strategies and techniques in our very own Kaneland classrooms, that we would encourage all of you to submit a proposal to present. Please take a moment to submit your proposal to present using this google form: Call for Proposal
