Co-constructing Feedback

Personalized Learning Academy 2.75 is all about feedback. The Academy covered feedback-related definitions, a continuum of feedback types, a model of the feedback process, but you may wonder...what's the most important thing to know? 

Overall, the key message about feedback is that it is not something that is passively "given" or "received".  Instead, the feedback cycle is something that learners and learning partners engage in together. Learners must be trusted to exercize their own autonomy and agency, and welcomed into the feedback process. 

Jennifer Serviss from KHS shared a great visual summary of her take-aways from Academy 2.75, and how she incorporated the feedback process into her high school math classes. Take a look below.

Where in the World is the Graduate Profile? Picture contest

 It is almost Spring Break and time to have some fun!  This year we encourage all of you to take the image of the graduate profile below (or make one of your own) and take it with during your Spring Break Adventures.  Snap a few photos of the graduate profile enjoying spring break and submit them to Sarah Mumm at 10358@kanelaned.org or text to 630-742-3560 by April 6th to be entered to win!  Have fun!

EC- 5 MTSS Professional Development Modules Update

Last week we sent out the MTSS three module professional development process for this spring through next school year.  Please remember you can select how you access Module One.  The following are all options for you:

• March 4 during What I Need Time (Independent Study)

• April 6 and 7 8:05 session with Nicole Full

• April 12 3:45-4:45 session with Nicole Full (1 hr paid)

• April 20 and 28 8:05 session with Nancy Meisenger and Anne Olsen

• May 11 3:45-4:45 with Jimmy Boyle (1 hr paid)

• June 9 1:00-2:00 with Liz Orman (1 hr paid)

• July 11 9:00-10:00 with Nancy Meisenger (1 hr paid)

• August 15th SIP What I Need Time (Independent Study)

• August 18 3:45-4:45 with Rachael Walker (1 hr paid)

Note that as the google meets links are created for the sessions, we will add them to this list. If you are selecting the Independent study time during contract time there is no need to contact anyone with completion since your completion will be noted on the final application google form. If you are doing the one hour of independent study work off of contract time, please contact Sarah Mumm with the date and time worked for payment purposes.

One Book, Four Schools Voting is Now Open!

 We are excited to begin to plan the next One Book, Four Schools book for the 2022-23 school year.  We need to hear from all of you to select the best title for next year.  Please use this google form to share your input and select your top title!  Happy voting.  Voting does close during Spring Break.
