K-5 Student Friendly Folder Available

 In order to begin to share the great work of our staff creating possible student friendly language PBP tables, we have created a folder for all to share ideas and templates in the district shared K-5 PBP Tables folder.  You will find a folder labeled "K-5 Student Friendly PBP Tables".  In this folder you can post a view only sample or template that you have created.  In order to keep the formal Teacher PBP tables for the grade level, please do not post student friendly ones in the official file.

 Customized Learning Pathways (J)

We have had over 100 submissions for tenet J so far! In Customized Pathways, learners co-design their learning alongside educators, rather than adhering to specific expectations created by teachers alone. Learners progress within customized pathways, creating their own sequence of learning, and following a pacing guide that meets their needs. Evidence collected so far has included things such as students composing their own music using a technology platform of their choice, and classroom-based math workshops utilizing the math continuum to allow students to progress within standards at their own pace.

Summer PD Offerings

Our summer PD offerings are now ready to be shared. Please take a look at THIS LIST of comprehensive offerings for May, June, July, and August. These are paid opportunities throughout the summer based on various topics of interest. We are excited to offer both in-house trainers as well as outside presenters based on suggested topics. 

NOTE: The 2023 Roadshow will be emailed Monday, March 27th. We understand this is your break, so there is no expectation that you read the plan then. We will post the slideshow again on  April 5th for your reading. Roadshow dates for you early planners will be:

KME - April 12th

KHS - April 12th 

HMS - April 19th

KSS - April 25th

KST - April 19th

Enhancement Camps Needed for Summer School

Hello Kaneland! We are in need of summer school enhancement proposals for our students! We have K-5 offerings are John Shields and 6-8 offerings at KMAC. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please send your interest to Kara Christensen or Kris Carson as soon as possible. 

Word Study Materials Update

 It has been a very exciting break with many boxes of word study arriving!  We are excited to send out the new and updated materials for use this Spring and Summer in professional development and full implementation next year.  Please see the specific directions on getting your new materials and returning any old materials below:

-Please take your OLD Fundations books to the Coach office at your school 

-Please check out your NEW Fundations Teacher box from the Coach Office at your school for NEXT year

-Please keep the F and P Word Study kits (from the pilot) at the K-2 level

-Please pack up and send all Fundations student materials (tile boards, word cards, sound cards) by May 19 and bring them to the Coach office in your school

-New Student Fundations materials will be sent out to a designated grade level teacher to disperse starting in June

-3rd to 5th grade teachers please return any extra F and P word study kits to the Coach office so we may get them to the correct sections at the correct school

-Coaches will give any teacher that were in need of new kits and/or Word Journeys books (based on the Winter inventory) a new book by May

-MTSS interventionists: Please check in with your coach to let them know what Fundations materials you have.  If there are any resources that need replacing, please let your coach know at that time.  As materials are being collected from classrooms, we can replenish any necessary supplies for the interventionists.
