EC-5 EAC Update

Today EAC met for their monthly meeting.  The following were topics discussed:
-The team did a gallery walk of PBP table samples from Kaneland.
-The team determined the following reminders:
-Reported standards will be written in I can format and on the report card in that manner.
-Teams may be able to add the needs support column in order to show progression of learning.  This is a team choice, approaching and proficient are the only required columns.
-Continue to focus on the writing of the tables with the thought of anyone can read the table and visualize what learning would look like for students.
-The team discussed the longer term vision of next steps with tables which include:  using to view other classrooms, vet student sample work with the table, and vertically aligning the tables.  This will occur over the course of the next few years.
-The team reviewed and held a discussion on inclusive practices.  As we progress towards co-teaching, we will further share the FAQ based on questions and barriers regarding inclusive practices.
-The team also discussed the assessment collection for Rigby.  The team proposed an alternative process for Rigby data collection for next school year.  This process will further be discussed and shared after the Holidays.

We hope you have a great Thanksgiving break!

IgKnight Feedback

Thank you to all staff who took time to complete the IgKnight Evaluation for clock hours.  We truly take the feedback and carefully review and begin to plan next year!  It is very important to us to review and share the data.  Please see the initial feedback on the day!  It looks like it was a great day of learning that met most needs for staff.  Thank you to all presenters for great sessions.  We have already booked the keynote...Hamish Brewer, the tattooed principal and author of Relentless, for next year and are always looking for breakout speaker ideas.  If you have any further suggestions please share with Patrick and Sarah. Here is a snippet on next year's keynote to get you excited about next year:
