We wanted to share an update on the progress of the School Day Research work. We realize it has been a bit since the committee met, but there is work going on behind the scenes to collect information. Here is a brief update:
Trimesters have been Board approved and will be implemented for next school year. The revised calendar with progress report and report card dates will be posted online very soon. Special Education staff will be working on April 2nd revising goals to trimesters for EC-4th grade. At this time we are looking for a small sub group of classroom staff to meet and revise the Math and ELA maps. It is a simple revision but wanted to have a team work on the progress together. Please email Sarah Mumm if interested.
Friday Snow Days in May is collecting final information to draft a proposal. The largest barrier in pursuing this proposal will be the related service and IEP minutes. We are collecting ideas for this barrier to share with the committee.
Change/Flip of school day times has been meeting with Transportation to create drafts of possible schedules that will work with our busing fleet. Once we have these drafts we will return this information to the committee to draft a proposal.
Thank you for your patience in the process of collecting detailed information.

Learner Profile Data Collection
It has been an exciting week of collecting learner profile data. Thank you to all the staff who have welcomed and encouraged us to visit your rooms. We will continue to collect data next week as well. Please remember we are looking for student knowledge of the learner profile based on these observed and assessed levels:
0- No idea of the learner profile
1- Able to share what the learner profile is
2- Able to share what it is and how it applies to their learning needs
3- Able to identify, apply to their needs, and advocate for their learning/educational progress to be tailored to a need
It is such a pleasure to see the growth in our students this year. Kudos to all of you!
