IgKnight is Back (And Better than Ever!!)
Hi All-
We are super excited to kickoff our PR campaign to the annual Kaneland IgKnight Conference being held both in person and virtually this year on Monday, November 23rd from 8:00-3:00. This year we have such a variety of topics and learning styles to meet everyone's needs. You should have received THIS LINK to begin registering for sessions. You will notice that they are grouped in 3 distinct colors- orange for in-person sessions (capped at 15 participants, socially distanced in classrooms around Meredith); green sessions are pre-recorded videos and modules that can be watched from any location on Kaneland's campus; and blue sessions which are live, synchronous sessions accessed via Zoom. For those that need a space to engage with the Zoom sessions, you will have the LRC and cafeteria available at Meredith BYOH (bring your own headphones!). Be sure to register early! Space is limited in many sessions.
For those that take advantage of early registration, there are some really cool prizes available from Kaneland high school students- Thanksgiving floral arrangements, t-shirts, and more! We will also have raffle baskets awarded based on your activity during the day!
EAC Joint Statement
Monday EAC met for their monthly meeting. The following were topics discussed and any follow up or next steps:
1. The team began to look for trends from this school year based on the various learning structures. The next steps will be for the Co-Chairs to review the trends and begin to develop specific solution and problem solving sessions in future EAC meetings or subcommittee. Thank you to all schools for the detailed feedback shared with your EAC members.
2. The team reviewed the full remote plan for phase 3 and 4 (state phase 2 would be different). Phase 3 or 4 closures would be more short term than phase 2. Specific questions were reviewed and shared among the committee. Please be sure to keep up-to-date on this plan and review it often.
3. The team discussed the process of full remote students transition back to hybrid. The opt out of full remote form does close Friday evening. Administration will be working on class placements and any staffing shifts this coming Monday. The team created and will send out a list of keys to welcoming students back. It is essential to review Covid specific expectations since they have not been in school since the plans were in place. We are excited to welcome back students! At this time there are approximately the following students returning to hybrid: (NOTE: Students returning will not be finalized until Monday the 26th
KSS: 1- Kinder, 2- 2nd
KBK: 1-1st, 4- 2nd, 1-3rd, 3- 4th, and 2-5th
KME: 2-1st, 3-2nd, 1-3rd, 1-4th, and 1-5th
KST: 1-Kinder, 2-1st, 2- 2nd, 2-4th
4. The team took time to review the initial progress of co-teaching this fall. Suggestions were made for possible further success in co-teaching and what may need to be strengthened. We will continue to monitor the progress throughout this school year.
5. The team discussed e-learning on snow days. We will update the procedures and share resources with staff in the next month.
6. The team looked out the upcoming topics for the year and planned out discussions for the year. If you have any topics for EAC please share those with your reps.
Have a great month!
