6-12 AAC/OC Update

Thank you to everyone who has shared their feedback on the AAC/OC meeting structure and goals of the committee. Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to run this committee this year. With all of the craziness of the year, and the work of so many teams and KLCs, I was only able to get a commitment from 4 teachers, which would not be enough. However, I want to take this time to welcome anyone who has questions or concerns to please feel free to reach out to the Educational Services Department if need be. I am confident that we have the structures in place to have our needs met.

IgKnight Sharing Cafe Expectations

During our IgKnight Conference, you will have the opportunity to sign up during the 3rd breakout session entitled IgKnight Sharing Cafe. This will be opened with a limited number of seats in the high school library. The intent of the Sharing Cafe is to take advantage of on fo the following:

1) Collaborate, share, and design next-steps based on your professional learning from today
2) Begin a Canvas course on Collective Efficacy or Grading Smarter and Not Harder; or
3) Review key resources and become a think tank with your peers to build an application project to implement and bring your professional learning to life

Or just chat and share with peers what you have learned in the morning.

This session may lead to 1.0 in district credit for Canvas course completion or implementation of a think tank project. If you need some time to just debrief and plan how to apply what you have learned today, this is the session for you!

Annual KEA Initiatives Meeting Tomorrow

We are excited to host the annual KEA initiatives meeting tomorrow at Harter Community Room.  This year we will be hosting the meeting together EC-12.  It will be the first time to have a full district meeting and we look forward to the conversations across the grade spans. Please be sure to check out the updated timeline doc and share any questions you may have with your ARs who will be attending.  Thank you!

Pay It Forward Community Read

We hope you are all enjoying the Pay It Forward community ready.  If you are still in need of a book we have just a few free copies left.  Please be sure to check out the blog for updates and chances to win Kaneland spirit wear prizes.  If your class or students have been doing anything to make someone's day and pay it forward, please submit your story or video to Sarah Mumm to be shared in the blog post coming up.  Happy reading.
