TIC Update

The Teacher Initiatives Council met for their last meeting of the year this week. The following was an update from the topics discussed:

• The power half hour structure that will be used next year will be to do SEL lessons 1 PHH per week in September, December, January, and May. Reading PHH Reading will only be 4 days per week on those months. The first three weeks of September will be SEL every day. All other months will be 5 days Reading PHH per week with SEL embedded in other content areas the rest of the day. Will need to communicate to staff that the expectation is that SEL lessons still take place 1x/week all year, but they will need to embed in their instruction on “off” months. Over the course of the summer the Social Work staff will revise the lesson calendar based on feedback from the council. 

• Progress report 

• The Exploratory staff is looking into some edits to their maps for next year. They will also be looking at common assessments next year.
