ELA Review Cycle Process K-5

This past month K-12 held an ELA Review meeting.  During this time, teams reviewed the drafted curriculum maps and gave critical peer feedback at all levels.  Also that day there were multiple ELA material vendors on site for staff to review the options for tools to support the teaching of the curriculum maps.  We will soon finalize the maps and propose them to the Board of Education for final approval.  The following is a timeline for the next step tasks:
March 7th:  Further Vendor Meetings to determine tools
March 7th to April 6th: Continuing to try materials and determine the best tools to support the maps
April 2nd:  All grade levels turn in the final map for Board of Education approval
April 8th:  Curriculum proposals to the Board of Education
Late April:  Sharing of maps and any PD opportunity with all staff
Summer:  Ordering of materials and posting of new maps
School year 19-20:  Adopting the new maps and materials, noting tweaks and shifts in assessment during the year

Please feel free to ask your ELA rep or Sarah Mumm with any questions at all.  We look forward to this process.
