Middle School Social Sciences Note from the ROE

As the Illinois General Assembly considers legislation to require civics in middle school (please see the fact sheet below), we (The McCormick Foundation) are partnering with the Center for Information Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) at Tufts University to disseminate the Illinois Civics Middle School Survey (link here). It asks middle school social studies teachers and administrators for information about the current state of civic education practices, barriers, and resources needed in Illinois particularly in grades 6,7, and 8; current progress in educating students for active citizenship; and types of supports necessary to strengthen practice. We expect that completion of the survey will take up to 20 minutes, please complete survey no later than Friday, April 26th
