EC-5 Tips for Full Remote Transition to Hybrid

Tips for Welcoming Our Full Remote Students Back to Hybrid Learning

This November 9th we are welcoming back our first group of fully remote students to hybrid learning.  We are excited to have them return to onsite learning.  At this time no hybrid section will have more than 2-3 students returning and most sections only have 1-2 students coming back.

The following are tips and considerations for bridging the learning and to acclimate the students into the onsite procedures.

  • Be sure to review daily schedule and exploratory rotation for your class
  • Be sure to review the snack routines and lunch/recess times
  • Be sure to welcome them to any social emotional or specialized groups in your school (example:  Agents of Shields, Student Council)
  • Consider assigning student buddies or mentors, empowering students to mentor and support each other
  • Be sure to reaffirm agreements, expectations, or classroom norms
  • Be sure to consider how to rebuild community relationships within the classroom
  • Consider setting up possible welcome back meet and greet zooms with the family and students returning to your classroom
  • Consider team building activities for the first few days as a class
  • Please review the student’s data in Matrix and their report card in order to review the current learning levels

NOTE:  Administrators will be sending out a letter the week of Parent Conference week that will include video tours of the school and welcome back information including the Teacher/Class placement.
