Guess the Publication Date

Congratulations to Suzanne Farr from HMS! She was selected at random from among many correct answers to last week's Guess the Publication Date challenge. A treat is on the way to Suzanne!

Last Week's Answer:

"There is, I think, no point in the philosophy of progressive education which is sounder than its emphasis upon the importance of the participation of the learner in the formation of the purposes which direct his activities in the learning process, just as there is no defect in traditional education greater than its failure to secure the active cooperation of the pupil in construction of the purposes involved in his studying"

~stated by John Dewey, in 1938, in Education and Experience. He was such a progressive thinker!

These recent Guess the Publication Date challenges have really demonstrated the long history of the belief that students must have an active role in driving and owning their education. I suspect that the educational theorists quoted over the past few weeks would be in full support of Kaneland's plan to personalize learning for students.
