EC-5 EAC Update

Today EAC EC-5 met for their monthly meeting.  The following were topics discussed:

  • Laura Garland came to the EAC to share an update on personalized learning and the academy that is under construction. Updates from the Personalized Learning Steering Committee Work, site visits, Academy updates, learner profile update, PL 3.0 planning, and timeline for action plans were all shared.  Please reach out at any time with questions on progress.  Here is a link to the update for all staff to access (please be sure to pay special attention to slides 7 and 9). Also feel free to connect with your Personalized Learning Steering Committee member.  An expanded communication plan specifically for the PL Academy will begin after Spring Break.

  • The EAC also took time to review success and barriers for co-teaching thus far.  This feedback will be used to best plan the MTSS co-teaching training for next year.  The MTSS Co-Teaching training for K-5 will be shared over 3 modules starting this April.

  • The EAC reviewed the MTSS roll out process.  We hope (pending BOE approval) to begin MTSS structures next Fall, with training this Spring.  Please be sure to use the next month to review the handbook and logistics slides and bring any questions you may have to the roundtable Q and A sessions listed below:

    • MTSS Handbook

    • MTSS logistics

    • PR of the MTSS roundtable chats

  • The EAC took time to review our current KAL for student log on and suggest grade span changes.  These changes will be reviewed with the tech department to implement for next school year.

  • The EAC has a community request to vet a classroom library book due to an objection.  The team took time to review the concerns presented and decided to continue to use the book within the classroom libraries and allow student choice of the book.

  • The EAC is looking forward to the topics for the electronic meeting next month.  The following will be topics discussed:

    • Grammar and Word Study for Next School Year

    • SIP post data review

    • Co-Teaching feedback update
