6 - 8 Exploratory Review (6 - 8)

Representatives of the 6 - 8 exploratories met for their second curriculum review. The meeting began with Nikki Larsen, from KHS, discussing the PaCE framework. The team discussed exploratories offered at the 6 - 8 level and how these support, or can be modified to support, the six pathways at KHS. The team reviewed a potential change in the sequence of 6 - 8 exploratory options, and it was agreed upon that the proposed new schedule allows opportunity for students in the 8th grade to have a computer-based class. The team revised some class descriptions to more accurately articulate those classes. Revision to the health class was discussed and there is the potential for a future recommendation to the school board. A list of materials, subscriptions, and other items was generated to review at the next scheduled meeting.
