EAC met for the monthly EAC meeting. Topics of discussion included:
Committee reviewed the levels of the decision-making continuum. DMC levels will be used and shared at all meetings moving forward.
Laura Garland shared feedback received from the December virtual EAC meeting.
A current goal for the learner profile is to have it become more authentically embedded into daily classroom practice. Future goals include having students take information they have learned about themselves forward to next year’s classroom and allowing students an opportunity to share their own profiles with others. Continue to utilize coaches as a resource for learner profiles!
Feedback on New Teacher Induction Changes have been sent to Dr. Adkins. He is reviewing them and will attend a future EAC.
Science Committee is looking for additional feedback on new science program selection. EAC is invited to participate in the Feb 15 meeting (½ day sub. Classroom teachers are encouraged to share feedback with EAC.
Feedback was shared based on prior PD structures and topics. Structures and topics for Spring IgKnight day were reviewed. Call for proposals is now open. Teachers can fill out a proposal if there is a session they would like to present OR if there is a session they would like to attend. Presenters will be matched to topics.
Second Step grid was reviewed. Teachers will follow grid structure but have flexibility to shift lessons as needed in response to specific classroom behaviors. Second Step lesson resources are available in each elementary school’s FRM. Exploratory teachers would like to support lessons by using common second step vocabulary. PD opportunities will be discussed for exploratory teachers and related services.
10 Tenets were reviewed. Teachers will have time on March 3 to continue to work on gathering evidence. Learning walks, meetings, emails, videos are all great ways of submitting evidence. A tenant highlight video will be shared each month in the Curriculum Connection. Evidence has been collected, please request examples if needed for PL 3.0
