K-5 Writing Audits

Now that we are into September it is time to begin our writing audits.  The purpose of the audits is to observe our current writing practices and build a professional development plan to enhance our practice.  Our outside consultant will be collecting audit data and it is non-evaluative.  The writing consultant will be present in schools for initial audits on the following dates:  9-7, 9-8, 9-11, 9-12, 9-13, 9-14, 9-15, 9-19, 9-20.  Please remember this is initial data in order to plan next steps for writer's workshop implementation.  Writing has been our lowest achievement area for a few years across the schools, and we are eager to assess our practices to better focus on student learning.  If you have any questions at all please contact Sarah Mumm.
